The Aqua-Pure® Water Filter System AP903 helps to reduce chlorine taste and odor as well as particulate, rust, and other minerals at the point water enters your home or business. In doing so, the filter helps provide more appealing drinking water and protect appliances and fixtures against staining and mineral buildup. The high-capacity (100,000 gallons) replacement cartridge is rated to perform for up to a year in a typical installation.
The AP903 water filter system is manufactured by 3M Purification Inc., formerly CUNO Incorporated. The non-corrosive 304 stainless steel head is covered by a 25-year limited warranty. The head allows sweat-in-place installation, and 1” NPT connections with 1” center cores provide unrestricted flow. A high flow rate (20 gallons/75.7 liters per minute) meets the needs of typical larger homes and light commercial applications. Change-outs of replacement cartridges require no tools, and the sanitary design prevents contact with filter media. The filter is rated for chlorine taste and odor reduction at 20 gallons (75.7 liters) per minute and 5-micron particulate reduction. It is pressure-rated for up to 125 psi. The unit is 25-1/16” (63.7 cm) high (incl. bracket) and 4-1/5” (11.4 cm) in diameter. It meets NSF Standard 42 for particulate filtration and is appropriate for well-water particulate reduction.
A well or city water system may provide your house with more than water—contaminants. As a plumber I have installed many different styles and brands of water filters. This one is very nicely built and easy to install and service. The filter head is made from Stainless Steel which will last a lifetime in normal household service. The filter element is easy to install and remove for replacement, the best part of the filter is there is no messy cartridge to replace. It is a one piece filter which keeps some water in it, but can be controlled easily without spilling it.
Additionally the filter provides great tasting water with no odors, or visible sediment of any kind. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a whole house system that does not negatively impact water flow rates.

We were having a major issue with sediment and odor with our water, esp the sediment. We recently had to replace the hot water heater and when I went to go empty it, the sediment issue became very apparent. About a gallon of mud poured out of the heater when it was first emptied. At this point, we knew we needed a good water filter to go along with the water heater. We decided on the AP903 based on various review from here and other places on the web. The price is excellent and we were willing to give this a shot. After some pipe work was completed, we flushed the filter for about 5 mins and instantly noticed a difference in the water, esp the odor.. It was gone. completely. Also, we noticed that the water right out of the faucet was better as well. Our house has 1" main coming into the house which goes right into the filter and we have noticed just a very very slight reduction in water pressure, but nothing to be concerned about.. Overall, an excellent filter so far. Only thing left to judge is the life of the filter, other wise I would not think twice in reccommending this filter to anyone.
